Getting Here
90 minutes from Denver, 2 hours from DIA — easier than you think
Good news: Chateau Relaxo is one of the most accessible mountain destinations in Colorado. Unlike ski resorts that require white-knuckle passes, the drive from Denver stays on major highways the entire way. The Eisenhower Tunnel handles the Continental Divide for you, and US-40 through Berthoud Pass is well-maintained year-round.
Whether you're driving yourself, catching a shuttle, or even taking the train, this guide covers everything you need to know about getting here—and what to bring once you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a 4WD or AWD vehicle?
Not required in summer. In winter, you need either: 4WD/AWD, snow tires (M+S rated), or chains. We recommend AWD with good tires for peace of mind.
Is the road to the house plowed?
Yes. Purple Sage is a maintained road and our driveway is cleared. You won't need to navigate any unplowed mountain roads.
What if there's a big storm while we're there?
Stay put and enjoy it! The house is fully stocked, you have the hot tub, theater, games. Plows usually clear roads within 12-24 hours of a storm.
Can I get groceries delivered?
Instacart delivers from the Fraser Safeway. Selection is limited but works for basics and forgotten items.
